Featured Artist: Marie Scott
About the Artist
Wisconsin-born fine artist MARIE SCOTT left Milwaukee in the fall of 2008 and relocated to Travelers Rest, South Carolina along with her husband Tim and their son Nathan. This northern family decided to migrate south in order to live in place that actually looks and feels like the scenes that Marie loves to paint.
Sunny blue skies and green, wide-open places are a common theme found in her vibrantly colored oil paintings. Regardless of the subject matter she chooses, most of her paintings cause you to feel as if you’ve stepped into the best summer day of your life.
Feaured Artist: Rich Nicoloff
About the Artist
Rich Nicoloff started his journey into photography at Northern Illinois University as a Journalism major with an Art minor emphasizing photography in both. After he spent some time working for both a daily newspaper and a group of weekly suburban Chicago newspapers, while it was a very exciting, fast paced life, it wasn't the life he wanted. It was here, in the Blue Ridge Mountains where he found his calling, blending the storytelling of photojournalism with the creativity and timelessness of fine art to share the beauty and allure of God's creations. Several of Rich's pieces can be seen on our walls as well as in the studio and gallery he recently opened in downtown Travelers Rest.
Featured Artist: Greg Patton
About the Artist
Greg Patton is a native South Carolinian, born in Charleston and raised in Travelers Rest. His work is inspired by the decorated stoneware and face jugs of 19th century Edgefield, S.C. pottery. Greg also draws ideas from the tradition of pottery throughout the southeast, incorporating and re-interpreting old themes to create a mixed body of work. Some would be at home alongside historical Edgefield pieces, and some appear quite contemporary. Greg's work also includes our very own Forest Mugs!
